Methodology

Survey data was sorted and analyzed based on organization, match to job title, job pay, pay methods, pay range (minimum to maximum of range), benefits costs, vacation costs, etc. Other information that was analyzed was the difference between pay in Ontario regions, in unionized jobs and in supervisory and management jobs with varying numbers of subordinates.

From the analysis, a typical mid-point of each job and subset of each job was calculated. As with all statistical averaging, some organizations pay more than the typical amounts and others pay less. Some parameters that we did not survey and therefore were not included in the analysis were the complexity of the organizations and the budgets of each supervisory and managerial job. Most organizations would be unable to provide a “measure” for the former and would be unwilling to provide the latter confidential information.
